Child Rights Protection Centre (CRPC) was created in 2006 under the Development and Education Program for Daughters and Communities, in response to the high risks of exploitation of children in Chiang Khong, Thailand. The shelter has since provided more than 50 girls with the opportunity to go to school and grow up in a safe and supportive environment. Since 2015 CRPC has been an independent organization. CRPC have also continued to work in the local community to provide financial support and resources to families in need, raise awareness, and build networks and watchdogs to report abuse or exploitation in Chiang Khong. CRPC achieves this through participatory project work, and by building relationships and policies with local government and other local NGOs.
